Trinity Reformed Baptist Church

Covenant

of the

Trinity Reformed Baptist Church

Constituted the Fourth of May, in the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Five, in Excelsior Springs, Missouri

In the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, relying wholly upon His mercy and grace, having been called out from the world, gathered together as a visible congregation of regenerate, baptized, confessing Christians, we the members of Trinity Reformed Baptist Church of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, do here freely, fearfully, and joyfully enter into covenant with one another.

We shall love the Lord our God with all our heart, and one another as ourselves.

We shall hold fast the Christian Faith once delivered.

We shall fear God, and not men.

We shall worship God according to His design and commands, as revealed in the Holy Scriptures.

We shall fervently pray for and cheerfully work for the advance of the Kingdom of Christ and the will of God on earth as in Heaven.

We shall not forsake the regular assembly of this church, but we shall strive to observe and receive the regular means of grace: the public reading, preaching, and hearing of the Word of God, the administration of the sacraments, prayers, singing of psalms, hymns, and spirituals, and encouragement one of another in love and good works.

We shall endeavor to be good churchmen, zealous for the unity of this church, upholding the confession of this church, earnest to know one another well, for the purpose of exercising our gifts for each other’s edification with competence to the glory of God in this church.

We shall freely and cheerfully contribute to the material needs of this church, and remember the poor.

We shall endeavor by our speech and conduct to protect the good Name of Christ, of His universal Church, of this particular church, of ourselves, and of one another

We shall pursue that holiness without which no one shall see God, striving against the world, the flesh, and the devil, disciplining ourselves for the purpose of Godliness, for the sake of Christ's Name on earth and for the protection and promotion of our own and one another's happiness.

We shall submit to the church's formative and corrective discipline upon ourselves, and accept the duty to participate in the discipline of other members.

We shall seek unity with one another and resist all tale-bearing, envy, and factiousness.

We shall speak the truth to one another in love, and deal with one another in candor, honesty, and equity.

We shall strive for peace with one another, believe the best of one another, prefer one another above ourselves, lovingly correct one another, humbly receive correction, bear with one another's weaknesses, take responsibility to be reconciled to one another, confess our sins to one another, and forgive one another.

We shall each of us earnestly endeavor to establish regular private and family worship daily

We shall walk confidently and contentedly in our various vocations, for the glory of God and the good of our households, this church, and our community, working diligently with our hands, in obedience to God's callings and exercise of His gifts.

We shall rear our children to believe, love, and obey God and His Word, not failing to provide them a Christian household nor a Christian education, and we shall support one another in doing the same.

We shall support the love, fidelity, and health of one another's marriages and households.

We shall seek the good of our neighbors in Excelsior Springs, endeavoring to be good citizens of this earthly city, witnesses to the redeeming Gospel of Jesus Christ and His supreme authority over all kings, governors, lands, and dominions.

We shall earnestly endeavor to join with another church of Jesus Christ, if in God's providence we should be moved to another location.

So help us God,

Amen.
